This is a low-level light therapy that is a safe and painless way to encourage your skin to repair and replenish itself. It enhances the effects of other advanced skin treatments and can form part of an effective and holistic skin care programme.
What is Celluma® Light Therapy?
This skin therapy was initially developed by NASA to help astronauts recover from minor injuries. It produces three specific wavelengths of light at high intensity: blue, red and near-infrared. Each one penetrates to a different level of your skin, stimulating it in different ways.
How will it improve my skin?
Skin cells absorb the light particles (photons) and transform them into energy. This extra energy is used by the cells to repair, regenerate or perform other functions.
More specifically, the blue light kills the bacteria that can cause acne and inflammation. The red light penetrates the mid-layers of the skin where it stimulates the fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin. The near-infrared light penetrates the deepest layers of the skin where it boosts microcirculation, encouraging cells to repair and new cells to form.
The overall effect is to improve your skin’s tone, clarity and texture and to reduce inflammation.
Celluma is suitable for all skin types. It’s not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of epilepsy / photosensitivity or if you are suffering or have ever suffered from cancer.
This treatment involves a lightweight, flexible Celluma Pro light panel being placed over the area that requires treatment. This has been described by many of my clients as a relaxing treatment.
A session lasting 30 minutes complements other treatments, maximising their impact.
There is no downtime with Celluma. The skin will experience some temporary redness lasting no longer than 30 minutes
This depends on your objective and your skin type.
It is a well-established product, fully tested and approved by the FDA. In addition, results are excellent considering the non-invasive nature of the application.
